In June 2007, a conversation happened in the writing studio on the Ft. Lauderdale campus of Keiser University. Jason Shockey (bottom left) and Kim Auguste (not present in the picture)were having a conversation that would become the catalyst for a new club on campus.
Kim was mentioning how much she enjoyed the business curriculum at the university, but thought it would be much more interesting if we had an intern program set up with the local business community. This sparked Jason's interest because he had been working on a global network for Outdoor Advertising and was already incorporated. What he needed was students who had the desire to learn about the advertising industry and he could take his project to the next level.
After Kim left, Jason became inspired. He immediately went down to the 2nd floor graphics lab where he met with Professor Dorothy Green, Dicardo Hamilton, and Jonathan Foote. Ironically, they had also been discussing an idea which fell within the sphere of Outdoor Advertising. A meeting of the minds became what now exists as the Entrepreneur Club.
